Last week I saw the news that a new show will be coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in early 2019. It will be called ‘Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy’ and it sounds cute! Disney’s website only has a short description of what we can expect, but it sounds like something Cars lovers will enjoy! It will include favorites such as Tow Mater, Cruz Ramirez, and others from Radiator Springs. It also mentions that after the show, you will be able to get a picture with Cruz herself outside the theater.
I so wish this was going to be open this year when we go, as my daughter loves Lightning McQueen and all the Cars characters. This is definitely a show she would really enjoy. And with the limited options for preschoolers in Hollywood Studios, this will be a welcomed addition.
As of now, the only place you can see all the Cars characters is at the Art of Animatin resort. We visited this resort last time we were at Disney so my daughter could see all the Cars characters and take her pictures with them. I highly recommend doing this if you have a Cars buff like her. It’s not crowded, the area is themed really well, and there are plenty of Cars characters to see. The cars are all in really good shape too, considering they’re out in the sun constantly and take a beating from the weather. We’re staying at this resort in September, but we will be in the Little Mermaid rooms. We definitely plan on spending some time at the Cars area again though and even taking a dip in the pool by the Cozy Cone Motel. My daughter is so excited!
